Decolonizing our spaces: Honouring Truth and Reconciliation Day
On September 30, we honour survivors of the residential school system and reflect on our shared responsibility for reconciliation. This article looks at what decolonizing our spaces can mean—in health care, research, and daily life—and asks: What steps have you taken?
Register: Black voices in kidney health webinar
Black Canadians living with kidney disease — along with their families, caregivers, and advocates — are invited to a free webinar on Thursday, October 9.
This interactive session, co-presented by the Can-SOLVE CKD Network, Black Health Alliance, and the Kidney Foundation of Canada, will highlight how Black voices can shape kidney care in Canada by providing feedback and guidance on research.
Honouring Inuit Knowledge
In the final story of this series, Inuit patient partner Letitia Pokiak shares how culture, food systems, and land are central to health in northern communities. Her story highlights the importance of distinctions-based approaches to care that respect Inuit knowledge, values, and resilience.
