All of us across the Can-SOLVE CKD Network are saddened by the passing of our friend and colleague Chantal Boucher.

Chantal’s compassion and dedication to Canada’s kidney community shone through in everything she did. She worked for more than 20 years with the Kidney Foundation of Canada in the Programs and Research departments. In this role, she was a vital pillar of support to the KRESCENT Program, helping to foster the next generation of kidney research scientists.

Chantal was a member of the Can-SOLVE CKD Operations Team from the network’s earliest days and played an important role in supporting the patient council and its members. She was an enthusiastic champion for patient involvement in research and made many contributions to the growth and strength of the Can-SOLVE CKD patient partner community.

She was a warm and genuine colleague who faced every situation with good humour. We will miss her dearly.

We invite members of the Can-SOLVE CKD community to share memories of Chantal and messages of condolence in the space below. Comments will be reviewed before they are posted.

I feel so lucky that I got to work with Chantal for five years and I am so sad that she is no longer with us. She was a wonderful colleague: always willing to step in and help out, take on a new challenge and be pushed out of her comfort zone, and always so kind to everyone she worked with. Her wonderful sense of humor and warm spirit were felt by all who came into contact with her. She helped make work fun! I miss her more than I can say, and my heart goes out to Davis…

My condolences to Chantal and family, she was a warm and kind person to me in Calgary at a Can-Solve orientation when I joined and made sure I was accommodated 6 years ago, she bent over backwards for me and my wife. The Kidney Community will indeed miss her.

I knew Chantal when I was in KRESCENT, which I have not been a part of for a number of years now. But I remember Chantal well and with happy memories. I am thankful to her for contributing to the wonderful experiences. My sincerest and deepest condolences to Chantal’s family and friends.
