Can-SOLVE CKD patient councils unite at Canadian nephrology conference
At the recent Canadian Society of Nephrology AGM in Vancouver, BC, members of the Patient Governance Council (PGC) and the Indigenous Peoples’ Engagement and Research Council (IPERC) came together for their first-ever joint meeting. The gathering focused on connection, shared learning, and collaboration—deepening the sense of community among patient partners from across the country.
CNTN hosts annual research symposium
The 7th annual Canadian Nephrology Trials Network (CNTN) Research Symposium was held on May 7, 2025, at the CSN Annual General Meeting in Vancouver, BC. Co-hosted by Dr. David Collister and patient partner Hans Vorster, the hybrid event brought together patients, clinicians, and researchers for a morning of collaboration and knowledge sharing. The symposium highlighted CNTN’s achievements and emphasized its commitment to patient engagement and future growth.
Joint Symposium explores benefits and challenges of home dialysis
What are the pros and cons of home hemodialysis and how can the experience be improved for people on dialysis and their caregivers?
At a recent joint symposium co-hosted by Can-SOLVE CKD, Canadian Association of Nephrology Administrators (CANA), and the Canadian Society of Nephrology (CSN), expert speakers and patient partners explored the challenges—and opportunities—of home hemodialysis in Canada and the U.S. The session highlighted the need to centre patient voices and preferences when shaping home dialysis programs.
