Mind the Gap pathway featured in new journal publication

The Mind the Gap project has published a new peer-reviewed paper in the Patient Experience Journal, co-authored with patient partners, about the process of co-designing a patient-facing mental healthcare pathway for people receiving dialysis. The team’s work was also recently featured in a University of Alberta Folio article.

Call for abstracts: Present your work at the CNTN Research Symposium

Have a trial in progress, a new idea you’re shaping, or early findings you’d like feedback on? The Canadian Nephrology Trials Network (CNTN) is now inviting abstracts for its annual Research Symposium, taking place May 6, 2026, at the CSN Annual General Meeting in Québec City.

Remembering Dr. Barry Lavallee

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Dr. Barry Lavallee, who made invaluable contributions to the Can-SOLVE CKD Network through his involvement with the Indigenous Peoples’ Engagement and Research Council and support of Kidney Check in Manitoba. A respected Indigenous physician, educator, researcher, and advocate, Dr. Lavallee dedicated more than 30 years to improving health and wellness for First Nations and Métis peoples. As CEO of Keewatinohk Inniniw Minoayawin Inc. (KIM), he advanced health system transformation rooted in Indigenous leadership. Known for his candour, he was a truth teller to the experiences of Indigenous peoples within racist systems. He will be remembered for his courage and commitment to community.
