Honouring First Nations Knowledge

In part one of our series looking at the importance of a distinctions-based approach to Indigenous health, we highlight First Nations knowledge, values, and healing practices. Anishinaabe nurse Heather Talbot shares insights on land-based teachings, traditional medicines, and the need for trust, cultural safety, and respectful collaboration in Indigenous health and research.

Black kidney health webinar now on YouTube

Did you miss the “Protecting Black Health: Kidney Disease Prevention and Early Detection” live webinar in early July? We have you covered! You can now watch the recording on YouTube. Co-presented by the Can-SOLVE CKD Network, Black Health Alliance, and the Kidney Foundation of Canada, this community-focused webinar led by Black health professionals and people living with kidney disease shares practical, culturally relevant kidney health information for Black Canadians.

A huge thank you to our sponsor, Amgen, for supporting this important work.

SAVE THE DATE: Part two of this webinar series, titled “Black Voices in Kidney Health: How to Get Involved and Impact Care”, is scheduled for September 2025. Registration and event details coming soon.
