Aperçu du projet

Les jeunes qui reçoivent un diagnostic de diabète de type 1 sont à risque de complications à long terme, y compris les maladies rénales et cardiaques. AdDIT étudie une cohorte d’observation de jeunes atteints de diabète de type 1 ainsi qu’un groupe de sujets sains appariés selon l’âge et évalue longitudinalement la fonction rénale et la fonction cardiovasculaire. Nous mesurons les facteurs biologiques, y compris les biomarqueurs urinaires, les facteurs psychosociaux et sociaux afin d’identifier et de mieux comprendre les personnes à risque pour le développement d’une maladie rénale chronique.

Nous avons créé un conseil consultatif composé de patients et de leurs familles. Ce conseil veille à ce que les patients puissent participer à tous les aspects du projet et à ce qu’ils aient une voix forte dans l’élaboration du programme de recherche.
